Ages 2-6 w/adult

Come create a chocolaty masterpiece with your little one. 

Discover Bermuda’s tranquil lifestyle and hear its stories of shipwrecks and pirates. See its beautiful pink beaches and turquoise blue bays - and learn about this island’s role during our Revolutionary and Civil Wars.

Children will serve as jurors to vote for the best illustrated picture book from the past year.  This is a series, children must sign up for both events  January 5th and January 19th.

High School volunteers grades 9-12 needed to help with the Caldecott Club, where you will help lead children in a discusssion about Caldecott picture book nominees and decide on a winner.

Come in for a relaxing class of chair yoga lead by JoAnn Dickson from Norridge Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi.

The Mayo Clinic states that coloring can help folks relieve stress, promote mindfulness and add enjoyment to their day. Supplies will be provided but feel free to bring your own coloring sheets, pencils, markers, & more.

Youth volunteers grades 6-12 needed to help with LEGO Builders Club. Email Robin, reyman@phpl.info,  if this is your first time volunteering at the library. 

Grades K-5

Start with free build fun, get surprised halfway with a twisty new task, and take home a LEGO mystery accessory each time! Bricks, brains, and big imaginations welcome!

Drop by the LAB with your own knitting, crochet, cross-stich, embroidery, or other portable project and socialize with others who share similar interests.  All experience levels welcome, however, no formal lessons are provided.

Drop-in to the Quilting Club. All ability levels welcome from beginner to expert. Please note there will not be any formal lessons. Bring your own sewing machines and projects. We provide the space...you provide the FUN!!

New to classical music? Not sure where to begin? What composer to listen to? Historian/musician Jim Kendros will take out all the guess work and make you an expert listener in no time!

Explore the bright geometric art of Sonia Delaunay, then create your own colorful design with bold, overlapping shapes. Play with color, patterns, and repetition to make artwork that really pops!

Join us for an eclectic concert of cello music! Lilianna Wosko is a dynamic and versatile cellist hailing from Chicago.

Ages 2-6 w/adult

Come explore a different place each month with food, music, and a craft. This month our adventure will take place in New Mexico.

Spend some time with Chef Susan Maddox learning some great recipes and dishes which are gluten-free but full of flavors and textures. This presentation will range from appetizers to desserts.

Get creative in the Lab! We will create unique art using twigs, pebbles and sea glass. All materials will be supplied. Priority given to PHPL cardholders.
