Presented in conjunction with the classic film, "Hello Dolly", which will play in the library on Friday, May 1, at 1pm! Separate registration for each is required. 

Historical presenter Todd Hunt portrays composer/lyricist Jerry Herman in a peek behind the scenes of the Broadway blockbuster that won 10 Tony Awards in 1964 (a record unbroken for 37 years). 

Learn how Carol Channing was not the original choice for Dolly, and why the show almost closed out of town. Discover how Jerry auditioned by writing four songs over a single weekend—three of which ended up in the show. 

And explore other stars who played Dolly during its seven-year Broadway run, including Ginger Rogers, Pearl Bailey and Phyllis Diller (yes, she could sing)!
