Employment Type/Schedule: Part-time, 25 hours per week, schedule as follows: Sunday 11-5, Monday 5-9, Wednesday 9-5, Thursday 9-5, Subject to change as needed

Salary: $20.50 - $21.00 per hour DOQ
The Prospect Heights Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative person to join our Youth Services Department. This position is ideal for someone who loves working with youth, especially teens and tweens. We are seeking someone who is creative and unafraid to try new things. You will join a growing team of dedicated Youth Services professionals.
Major duties and responsibilities include:
- Reader’s advisory and reference services to youth and caregivers
- Create and present programs for tweens and teens utilizing the Library’s makerspace technologies
- Work closely with the Teen Librarian to support the Library’s many service opportunities for Teen Volunteers
- Represent the Library at school and community outreach events
- Create displays and reader’s advisory handouts, as needed
The ideal candidate will be:
- Someone with a genuine love of working with tweens and teens
- A collaborative team player
- Service-oriented and empathetic
- Creative and self-motivated
Qualifications:
- LTA, BA, or equivalent experience
- Experience working with teens or tweens preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English
- Bilingual in Polish, Spanish, Russian, or Ukrainian a plus
