The Prospect Heights Public Library District seeks a data driven person to be our next Head of Technical and Automation Services.  Candidate must possess a high level of attention to detail with excellent communication skills and a core understanding of the technical needs and operations of a public library in a consortium.  This position is responsible for the maintenance of Library collections and automation assets.  Familiarity with RDA, MARC formats and OCLC Bibliographic standards and formats are essential.  Position oversees an outstanding staff of four and serves as the principal liaison with the Library’s network provider and technology vendors. 

The successful candidate is solution-based, collaborative, and highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills.  A demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new concepts and technologies is preferred.

Job Requirements: The position requires an MLS from an accredited ALA program and two years of supervisory experience.  Experience with library consortia and the Polaris/Innovative ILS preferred.  Excellent Windows PC skills are necessary, particularly Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
