Please join us in the library as we welcome documentary historian Gregory S. Cooke for an introduction to his film "Invisible Warriors." The film showing of this documentary will follow the introduction.

Invisible Warriors shares the individual experiences of a small group of elegant ladies who represent the 600,000 Black women who fled their lives as domestics and sharecroppers to work in factories and U.S. government offices during World War II. These patriotic pioneers share their wartime memories, recounting their battles against racism at home, Nazism abroad, and sexism everywhere.

This program is proudly presented in partnership with over 50 Illinois public libraries and the College of DuPage.

The speaker will be resenting virtually through Zoom.
